2009 West Coast
Kicking off its 5th year, OUT For Work hosted its first annual West Coast Conference, April 17-19, 2009 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
With over 150 registered participants, the conference marks a successful effort to bring OUT for Work's mission to all fifty (50) states.
"We are thrilled," said OUT for Work founder Riley Folds. "We had amazing students, panelists, and sponsors, and I think something special happened here."
Students participated in several panel discussions with topics ranging from 'being out in the workplace" to "dressing for success." Highlights included Transgender Advocate Donna Rose's presentation through photographs documenting her personal transition from male to female and the affect it had on her career as well as the panel discussion "Being hit twice; when you are LGBT and an ethnic minority" lead by former Apprentice candidate and emcee for the conference, Carey Sherrell.
